Hostage Negotiations 101 and a Half

Steve does an extremely dangerous thing in this audio interview. He goes completely off script to talk about a hostage situation where he had to negotiate with an upset man who was barricaded and holding his 7 year old daughter hostage with a knife! He uses this illustration to discuss how each of us should understand that God places burdens on our hearts at times for a good reason. Even worse, many times it may not be the person you would normally choose. You don't get a multiple choice on who God may led you to. It may be someone you wouldn't give the time of day to if you had a wrist full of timex's! We sometimes need a little jolt to realize that God loved us when we were unlovable and we should show the same grace to others. Pardon a little road-noise in this clip and listen as Steve shares this interesting experience. The story is true and occurred in Greensboro in the late 80's.
