Counting the Cost of being a Christian (Acts 7:54-60)

Presentation:

Isn't it sad that we live in a so-called Christian culture that is more concerned with their own personal image than they are to model the image of Christ in their lives?  Did you know that 65% of all Christian Martyrdom has occurred in th 20th Century? Missionaries from England in a previous century used to pack their belongings in a long pine box thinking that it was more likely that they would be brought back to their home country in it as opposed to coming back alive. So what caused these men of faith to proceed with the Gospel message in the face of what some considered a hopeless mission? It appears that these men of faith considered obedience to God's call much more important than their own lives! They led a life of selflessness all the way to their deaths much like the original disciples. Today we are studying about the life and death of the first deacon and martyr Stephen in the book of Acts. May we all be moved by the story of a man who gave all to be obedient to the call of the Gospel!
