I would like to take a moment and introduce you to my father, Dr. Robert J. Goode. Dad has been and will always be one of my greatest earthly influences which he displayed through the way he lived. He had many accomplishments such as the president of the NC Baptists Pastors, and an Executive Committee member of SBC where he served with Dr. Jerry Vines, Dr. Charles Stanley, and Dr. Adrian Rodgers. I will be the first to admit I am proud of him for all these accomplishments, but they don't hold a candle to the kind of loving and genuine father he was to my brother and I.

This sermon was preached by Dr. Goode at Troutman Baptist Church in North Carolina in 1994. Many of us just don't know why God allows us to experience such dark periods of our lives. The loss of loved ones and many other scenarios are so unexplainable and yet God never leaves us.

Have you ever felt like your decisions have brought you to a place of sheer hopelessness? In this sermon Dr. Goode addresses what to do when you have reached the point of not knowing what do do! The following is the Homecoming Sermon Preached by Dr. Robert J. Goode at Troutman Baptist Church, Troutman, North Carolina, in 1998. Pastor Goode was 66 years old and had recently retired. Pastor Paul Childers was the current Pastor at this Homecoming. The audio has a little hiss, and I was afraid to filter it too much more.
